Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) for Entrepreneurs and
Businesspersons in Canada
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) Entrepreneur
Stream was suspended in December 23, 2023 and is not taking any new
applications at this time. Please check with us to make sure information is up-to-date.
The following programs are available:
1. British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP)
- Entrepreneur
Immigration Stream: This stream targets experienced entrepreneurs who
want to establish and manage a business in BC. It includes two categories:
- Base
Category: For experienced business owners or senior managers.
- Regional
Stream: Formerly a pilot, this stream has been made permanent and
focuses on attracting entrepreneurs to smaller, regional communities to
promote regional economic growth.
2. Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)
- Foreign
Graduate Entrepreneur Stream: For recent graduates from foreign
post-secondary institutions to launch startups in Alberta.
- Rural
Entrepreneur Stream: Encourages entrepreneurs to establish businesses
in rural Alberta communities.
3. Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
- Business
Investor Stream:
- Entrepreneur
Pathway: For individuals starting or purchasing a business in
Manitoba.
- Farm
Investor Pathway: For establishing and operating a farm in rural
Manitoba.
4. Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)
- Entrepreneur
Category: For starting, acquiring, or partnering in a business in
Saskatchewan.
- Farm
Owner and Operator Category: Targets experienced farmers intending to
buy and operate a farm in Saskatchewan.
5. Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP)
- Entrepreneur
Stream: For experienced business owners or senior managers.
- International
Graduate Entrepreneur Stream: For recent graduates from Nova Scotia
institutions who have started or bought a business.
6. New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP)
- Entrepreneurial
Stream: For experienced business owners and senior managers.
- Post-Graduate
Entrepreneurial Stream: For recent graduates from New Brunswick
institutions.
7. Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI
PNP)
- Work
Permit Stream: For those interested in managing a business initially
on a work permit.
- Entrepreneur
Category: For investing in and actively managing a business on PEI.
8. Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program
(NLPNP)
- International
Entrepreneur Category: For experienced business owners or managers.
- International
Graduate Entrepreneur Category: For graduates of Memorial University
or College of the North Atlantic who have started or bought a business.
9. Yukon Nominee Program (YNP)
- Business
Nominee Program: For entrepreneurs with plans to invest in and operate
a business in Yukon.
10. Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP)
- Entrepreneur
Stream: For individuals starting or buying a business in the Northwest
Territories.
11. Quebec
- Quebec
Entrepreneur Program: For establishing or acquiring a business in
Quebec.
- Quebec
Investor Program: For individuals investing in the province’s economy,
though with specific investment and management experience requirements.
