New OINP Employer Portal Launches July 2, 2025: What Employers Need to Know
A major digital upgrade is coming to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).
Starting July 2, 2025, all applications submitted under the OINP’s Employer Job Offer streams must be filed through a brand-new OINP Employer Portal—a secure, modernized platform designed to streamline employer participation in Ontario’s immigration system.
What Is the New OINP Employer Portal?
The new portal is a dedicated online system for Ontario employers who wish to support foreign nationals for permanent residence through the Employer Job Offer streams. It replaces the previous system and introduces a range of enhancements to improve efficiency, transparency, and user experience.
This is not just a cosmetic upgrade—it is a structural shift in how employer-driven nominations will be handled moving forward.
Which Streams Are Affected?
As of July 2, 2025, employers must use the new portal to submit positions for the following OINP streams:
Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream
Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream
Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream
These streams are part of Ontario’s efforts to attract and retain skilled workers, international graduates, and candidates in high-demand occupations such as construction, agriculture, trucking, and personal support work.
What Are the Key Features?
The new OINP Employer Portal introduces a number of critical improvements:
Fully digitized application process
Say goodbye to fragmented file uploads and emails—everything happens within the portal.Improved security & data privacy
Compliant with Ontario Digital Service (ODS) security standards.Live application status tracking
Know exactly where your file stands at any moment, with real-time updates and case-specific notifications.Delegate management system
Employers can now easily assign authorized representatives (immigration consultants or lawyers) within the platform.Access to historical applications
View past submissions and outcomes for organizational recordkeeping and compliance.
What Employers Need to Do Now
To avoid delays, employers and their representatives should begin preparing before the July 2 launch.
Here’s how:
Familiarize Yourself with the Affected Streams
Ensure you’re using the correct stream based on the applicant’s background (worker, graduate, or high-demand occupation).Register for the New Portal
Registration will open prior to the July 2 launch. Employers must register directly—even if they plan to have a representative submit the application.Gather Required Documents
These include business licenses, current recruitment efforts, and position details. Make sure everything is current and ready to upload.Authorize Your Representative (if applicable)
Legal representatives must be formally designated within the portal, and only authorized RCICs or immigration lawyers in good standing will be permitted access.Attend OINP Webinars
Ontario will release training materials and webinars to walk employers through the system. Don’t skip these—they’ll help avoid errors.
Why This Matters
Ontario is seeing record demand for its immigration programs, and streamlining the employer-side application process is critical. This change:
Reduces delays and lost documents
Ensures better communication between government and employers
Protects applicant and employer information with modern encryption standards
